Kasdan Simonds Weber & Vaughan Law Firm Relocates East Bay Offices to Walnut Creek

Two of Kasdan Simond's top attorneys, Doug A. Lusson and Scott J. Thomson, are leading the office's legal work.

Over the past 20 years, Lusson, who joined the Kasdan Simonds firm in 2006, has represented homeowners, community associations, apartment owners, developers and others in numerous aspects of construction defect and insurance litigation. Lusson graduated from the University of Arizona Rodgers College of Law in 1987 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Arizona State University, where he graduated cum laude. Lusson has been representing clients in construction defect cases since 1988.

Thomson joined Kasdan Simonds in 2004 and previously instructed contractors in obtaining their California license. Over the past six years, Thomson's law practice has focused on construction defect, land subsidence issues, and class action law suits related to floods. Thomson is a magna cum laude graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Cal State Northridge. He was selected as a Young Top Attorney in 2009 and 2010 by Super Lawyers.

Also joining the Walnut Creek office is Attorney Mark R. Kirkland, whose practice focus includes construction defect litigation, product liability, and torts. Kirkland earned his law degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, Boalt Hall. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TX. Kirkland belongs to the Contra Costa County Bar Association (Litigation Section and Small Firm and Solo Practice Section).
